Countdown to Christmas is a web app that can be played on most modern iOS (iPhone) and Android smartphones. You will need to be using Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android in order to add the app to your device. Once done, you’re ready to play!
As Countdown to Christmas is a mobile web app, you will need an iPhone or Android device with either Safari or Chrome installed.
Your phone must also have a front facing camera, a back facing camera, accelerometer, multi-touch screen, speaker, and headphones. Most smartphones have all these features – the headphones you will need to supply yourself.
You will need the ability to send emails.
You will also need relatively fast and reliable internet access to play each day. Playing over WiFi is suggested.
Some puzzles require basic logic, whereas some require knowledge of how to use your device. Many require ‘out of the box’ thinking, but each day starts with a character reading a part of the story, giving the players clues.
If you’ve ever played an escape room, played and Exit or Unlocked board game, the mechanics are very similar.
If at any point during a puzzle do you need help, players can press the hint button to get clues or the answer.
The games are suitable for players 13+.
